Marriage Licenses Available For Chapel Ceremonies only.

29 Palms Wedding Chapel is currently open for business. We currently have marriage licenses for small group weddings (Less than 10 guests) .

We are performing elopement style weddings limiting the number of people in the Chapel to the “Wedding Couple”. (2) People – 10 or less  Guests – No Exception

The wedding Couple and Guests are required to wear face coverings/masks

No Exceptions

Our staff is using CDC universal precautions eg: N95 masks, gloves and disinfectants. Palm Springs supports all efforts of the County and the City in providing this essential service.

Our ability to provide essential services may change at any time. Appointments  may be rescheduled as needed to accommodate changing requirements.

Virtual Ceremony in Your Own Home ! $650

Couple applies for a marriage license via our website.  The couple appears before our notary …. signs the marriage license and all legal paperwork at any time before the ceremony and then on their special day, the minster hosts a virtual wedding for them and they speak their vows before friends and family both present and away.  Friends and Family will receive a log in link to the special event and can watch on any device.

Marriage License Information

Getting a Marriage License Through Us, 

Is Simple – Easy – Convenient

Application Requirements:
Congratulations! 

When requesting your marriage license, there are a few basic requirements as you proceed through the Marriage License Application.

Need To Know

  1. Couple must swear they are living together
  2. Couple must appear before the notary together
  3. You must know this is a legal document!! You will be asked to provide a Birth Certificate and Your LEGAL picture ID. (not expired)
  4. If married and divorced with in the last 12 months you must present your original court stamped divorce decree ! No Exceptions !

Basic Requirements (Please read carefully)

  • Please Use Only LEGAL NAMES – this is the name that appears on your birth certificate. NO NICK NAMES !
  • Use full names only – single initials in names- UNLESS THEY APPEAR ON THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE – are not accepted by the State Of California.
  • If you have changed your name since birth through another process other than marriage/divorce you will be required to show documentation of that change.
  • If you have no middle name – DO NOT USE – “NO MIDDLE NAME” “NA” or any other words that do not appear on your birth certificate.
  • Please provide your parents FULL NAMES – as they appear on your birth certificate. 
  • Remember your mother’s maiden name is the name she had before she met your father.
  • Remember your father was not born a Senior, he became one after your brother was born. So Do not use the designation of “SR” after your father’s name, unless it appears on your birth certificate.
  • If your name contains accent marks over or behind letters, please remove them. The State of California will not accept diacritical marks of any sort.
  • If you have been legally married and divorced previously, you will be required to provide the date, the number of times of marriage and how the marriage ends.
  • If you have been divorced within the last 24 months, you will be required to show the stamped dissolution of marriage document from the Superior Court. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Last but not least, you will be required to provide a copy of your Current – Not Expired – Legal Picture ID. You WILL also be asked for your birth certificate or other name change documents.
    • State Driver’s License
    • State Issued ID Card
    • United States Military ID
    • United States Issued Passport
    • Foreign Country Issued Passport

Note: if using an ID type not listed, please call for verification. Some Foreign IDs require supporting documentation to be accepted.
